Hello, my Internet People. Do you have a website or domain hosted by GoDaddy? If so, did you know that GoDaddy fully supports the draconian, primed-for-abuse, pro-censorship House bill we call SOPA? Because they do. To be clear: This bill would both make 90% of what we do here on Tumblr illegal, and it would enable (and require) our service providers to block us from websites and services before we’ve actually done anything wrong. I don’t much care for this heinous bill, and I don’t much care for those that support it, so I’ll no longer be giving GoDaddy any of my money. I’m not endorsing any other company, but I will say that I’ve heard good things about NameCheap, and I will further say that if you transfer your domain to them and use the promo code “SOPASucks”, you’ll get a discounted rate. Using the promo code “BYEBYEGD” might provide a discount, too, plus NameCheap will make a donation to Save The Elephants. If you do leave GoDaddy, make sure you tell them why.
